What is the perfect ratio of quick oats : milk when microwaving porridge?
(I'm using soy milk with the same fat content as 2%, if that makes a difference).

Depends on how thick you like your porridge. Try the middle value given in the recipe, the next time add more milk if you want it thinner or less milk if you want it thicker. Can't answer the question for you. It's a matter of taste.

Milk is badly digested by adult dogs. Oats are very short of calcium which he needs for healthy teeth and bones. The protein level in cereals is also rather low. So porridge is ok as an addition to his diet, but he needs a meat or soya based diet formulated for dogs in the main.
