Harry Potter Fans---Weird Potter Connection?

Well it's definitely a connection I mean I have contacts, that come from different parts of the world, and of very different age ranges most of which are Harry Potter fans, that was the point behind my screen-name of course it's what I was trying to advertise. :P. Also when you meet someone in real life and you find out they like Harry Potter the ice is broken, immediately as if someone sliced threw it with a chainsaw. You instantly start talking about what you thought about the ending, about whether or not you knew snape was good, about what houses you like and which one you think you'd be sorted into. It's not really a weird or unique connection though, it seems to be a common thing for people to feel bonded towards each other because of, their mutual fanaticism to a fantasy world (Trekies, LOTR fans, Star Wars fans etc)In a way it's like, since they've journeyed threw that world, in their imaginations many times, they feel like they're part of it, and when they meet someone else who has as well, and who gets them, it feels sort of like coming to your second home......I likes @ce's theory about a spell affecting you but......What if it's the people in black hooded robes, and the snot nosed kids, with the snake emblem on their Hogwarts uniforms that you like best......Dose that mean you have a heart as empty as Tom Riddle's?....oO

Yeah cause I mean I have meet some really nice people by talking about Harry Potter and stuff even at school I talked to people I may not have normally talked to and have become friends because we both like HP.

Umm... It's not a "weird Harry Potter connection". People who have similar interests usually bond over them. Think about all your friends... (Hopefully) you have something common with all of them, right? It's not a "special Harry Potter thing"... It's normal. =/

When you read the books, a spell is unleashed that creates the "Potter" bond with all the other fans. But remember this, not all readers will be affected by the spell. Only those with heart as pure as Harry's!

We Potheads totally have a connection- one doesn't invest so much time and energy into something and then jsut ignore it. We all went through the process with Harry, a mass cultural experience as a whole--that kind of thing doesn't mean nothing!

HAHA YES!! i totally think so. i mean, one person says harry potter and just about everyone in the vicinity who's read the books has some sort of opinion about it, and a guaranteed (at least) half hour conversation started! plus *anything* can be turned into something with harry potter, like you see a big black dog, and then hey! PADFOOT!! and anyone who hears & knows what that means (sirius!!!!!!) immediately has something in common with you!

well duhhhh!!!!! Of course we have one. Otherwise we wouldn't be us. I guess its because HP is so popular and it is well known, even people who just watch the movies sometimes know what we are talking about. The Hp connection is an awesome way to meet new people.
