What is the deal here, don't quite understand the heatsink scene?

Reviews like this still need some pinch of salt I know, but I'm more confused to begin with; according to the numbers my $20 cooling rig on an Athlon X2 3800+ 2 GHz blow the living crap off them or did I missing some arithmetic here?

Reused $18 Thermaltake R1 cooler using a $2 unknown brand thermal paste on a dual core CPU producing 29 celsius and 40 celsius in idle. I had no experience in reusing a cooler and end up spread too much thermal paste this time around. Basically I went for cheapest cooling component I could go.

Well with people wanting mods and a fantastic looking case both inside and out its too bad that they have to give up what a basic stock cooler has to offer, With all the money they sink into cooling components, they can't really compare to good old plain heat sinks that actually work.

My computer looks like crap, but it runs very well. All stock parts with the exception of a couple of add-on drive cards. It runs quiet and cool with no trouble what so ever.

I don't usually trust or even look at too many reviews because I have found some to be kind of biased. I learn a lot from my customers and the mistakes that they make when they do listen to the reviews only to have problems arise from not using that pinch of salt.

You live in Toronto and it's the dead of winter and dry and cold right now. Also, what are your room temperature settings. You also state you don't do hard-core gaming. Wait until July, set the room temperature to 78 degrees and install Crysis and play and give the readings.
