Cop Haters and YA?
Does YA hate cops, a post on 2/20/08 “Do you think it is OK for the police to speed for no reason at all?” Was just one of the many anti-police post, and 6 people flamed the cops in response, some extremely insulting to police (hate speech). I defended the police and was flagged for violating YA policy. Certainly no worst than those that flamed the cops, even the asker seemed to not have a problem with my response, but...... So what’s up, YA hates cops, or are the cop haters able to dish it out but not take it?
Great answers! Thanks for the positive responses; I really want to help people who come to this forum to find answers and to connect with other law enforcement offers reaching out to each other and the public. It is what we do, help people; its too bad some can’t see the truth. Stay Safe….

Matt - I am glad you brought this up. I have contacted YA Moderators in regards to this as a result of a question I posted, as well as other peers of mine. This goes for answers as well.
There seems to be some bias, not only in the Law Enforcement section but other more anti-right wing questions and answers. Anti-Semitic views also are not removed as often as pro-Semitic views.
I believe those in the YA moderating need to be revamped as well.
Only time will tell if your question and/or my answer live through the next few days. Otherwise they will guise answers and questions as these as a rant, chat, not an answer or a question, insulting to others, blah blah.
EDIT: and user - "I LOVE OUR PRESIDENT" - that is a GREAT screen name!

Well, here's an insight to the mind of one of the more notable Police haters;
"Subject: Tropical Sensei
Message: I found it quite fascinating that you felt the need to in public advise people that I change my name on yahoo. Yet, interestingly enough, it was the advice of another officer that I change both my name and avatar for security reasons on a regular basis.
Thank you for that. Next week I will be sure to use Tropical sensei only. That way you and the whole world can identify me. I am in South Korea, perhaps you can next time write that I am a Yongo sung sang nim (English teacher)."
I got that when you posted this question. Then I got this beauty of a reponse when I told him/her to find another hobby that doesn't involve posting the same tired message under ID of the week.
And then I get this one
"Message: I don't hide behind anything. If you're a police officer, you are the most unprofessional one I have ever met. Thanks, I don't care if my opinion is popular or not. In the grander scheme of things, who really cares? These are only opinions and it is great to see those who have the intelligence and fore thought to express them.
If you have such a big issue with my questions, then why don't you not answer them? It is really quite simple. I will go on any site I choose. If you don't like it, too bad.
Don't reply loser, you are blocked."
It's getting pretty typical where the idea of "discussion" involves them being direspectful and insulting to ask a question and feed off of the others that are in agreement rather than politely stating a question, concern or objection and when we reply actually consider our point of view.
And I agree that YA has done a poor job in managing this. I've noticed quite a few knowledgeable Officers and others in the LEO field have simply stopped contributing because of this.

Hey Magic Matt:
You hit the nail on the head!! The bashers can dish it out and not take it! And have you noticed they all have the no email option checked on their profiles!! Unlike the other officers on here, hell, I got 19 emails from the bashers from all the ay to eat S***, to where do I live so their homeys can visit!
How about yesterday also, I had posted 2 "poems" one written by an 11 year old and one a police tribute in the questions section, I worded the opening line in the form of a question like yahoo asks, but after I had their attention I let it rip with the poems. I noticed today that they had been deleated by yahho, one of the babies had to have complained, yahoo doesn't really look over the posts that much, but if they did, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have deleted them as at the end of each I asked a QUESTION to keep in guidelines, but they're gone.
Like I said in a previous answer, if any one wants a copy to e mail me through my profile, put your e mail in it so I can write back directly as Yahoo won't let you e mail the photos that accompany them.
If you want a better group to follow the police action try:
www.myspace.com/themyspacepolice it's run by a fellow LEO but is an open moderated group that bounces cop bashers at the first sign and blocks them, there are others on myspace also but you need a police ID to get approved.
Take care!!
Be on the lookout for my next question, I'm posing it to LEO's and it will drive the bashers nuts, as they won't be able to have it yanked, it is a legitimate question!!! Just look for my RCMP avatar in the postings.

nicely, right this is an perception to the techniques of one of the greater impressive Police haters; "concern: Tropical Sensei Message: i chanced on it somewhat desirable which you felt the would desire to in public propose people who i alter my call on yahoo. yet, curiously adequate, it became into the advice of yet another officer that i alter the two my call and avatar for protection motives on a nicely-known foundation. thank you for that. next week i visit be valuable to apply Tropical sensei basically. That way you and the full international can perceive me. i'm in South Korea, possibly you could next time write that i'm a Yongo sung sang nim (English instructor)." I have been provided that as quickly as you published this query. Then I have been given this incredible thing approximately a reponse as quickly as I informed him/her to stumble on yet another pastime that doesn't contain posting the comparable drained message decrease than id of the week. and then i'm getting this one "Message: i do no longer cover at the back of something. while you're a police officer, you are the main unprofessional one I even have ever met. thank you, i do no longer care if my opinion is commonly used or no longer. interior the grander scheme of issues, who relatively cares? those are basically comments and it relatively is huge to ascertain people who've the intelligence and fore theory to precise them. in case you have one in all these enormous situation with my questions, then why do no longer you no longer answer them? it quite is particularly straightforward. i visit pass on any website i elect. in case you do no longer like it, too undesirable. do no longer respond loser, you're blocked." it relatively is getting fairly commonplace the place the belief of "communicate" is composed of them being direspectful and insulting to invite a query and feed off of the others that are in settlement somewhat than with politeness putting forward a query, situation or objection and while we respond unquestionably evaluate our attitude. and that i agree that YA has performed a adverse job in coping with this. i've got observed somewhat some knowledgeable officers and others interior the LEO container have purely stopped contributing through this.

I personally don't care. If they want to spend their short time on earth hating cops, well sucks for them. These people have probably had a bad experience, and are probably going to be the same morons I get subpoenaed to court for every month. They can whine and moan all they want for all I care. At least we all still have clean records and a valid driver's license. I wish there was a way to hand out a giant box of tampons to all the people who's little feewings get hurt by the big bad Po Po.

They are able to dish it out but not take. I too have been insulted on Y! Answers and the insults stayed posted. I called someone a troll for posting questions over and over again about Police Brutality and got a violation notice. Its no big deal. I've got my big boy pants on but apparently others don't.
They act the same way on the street. I've been tempted to start handing out cartoon band aids and pacifiers to people.
Don't loose any sleep over it.
Edit:
True I have always allowed people to e-mail me through answers in case they want me to get more specific in my help. Many TROLLS have also e-mailed me. A couple have openly praised violent crimes against police and talked a lot of other junk. Makes for good reading when you really want to know where they really stand. Criminal mentality to the end.

I'm not a cop hater, but not a big fan either.
I live in Chicago and obviously there's a lot of "stuff" that happens here and plenty of people who disrespect the police and give them problems. It seems like these people have given the police force a negative attitude, which they in turn reflect back on EVERYONE. I'd consider myself a normal citizen and I don't go looking for trouble. There's been a couple times in my neighborhood where I've asked a policeman for assistance (not an emergency or anything) and I got treated rude and was completely disrespected. Cops constantly go though red lights, don't wear seatbelts (which is a law here) and pretty much do whatever they want because they know they can. It drives me insane.

It's easy to come on the Internet and bash the police because you remain anonymous. People generally hate being told what to do so people that have got tickets, or arrested for whatever come on here to bash the police. I have got a violation also for a response that I didn't believe was a violation either. Yahoo is garbage and the system is broken.

I have experienced this problem since being a member of YA. I have had several Violation Notice e-mails in the past. I have appealed them and some were re-posted and an apology e-mailed by YA and the points were reinstated. I would recommend that you appeal these violations.

I'm going to say that a double standard is at play here. Most people can dish it out and I find they cannot take the retorts of others. It's safe to hide in here & vent. I'm no fan of the police myself. And they have brought on the public's disdain themselves by their lack of integrity. Just yesterday morning I watched 2 police cars (1 marked & the other unmarked) run a red light & then stop at the next one. They used their blue lights to skate thru! Talking out the side of their neck (or mouth as the saying used to go)! One cannot talk one way & act another & that is what law enforcement is guilty of these days. The whole fabric of our society has become corrupted I am sorry to say.
