what is action-outcome learning in terms of psychology?

action-outcome learning has to do with instrumental conditioning, but that's all i know

i appreciate any help, and i already looked online and i can't find an explanation or definition

    Also known as operant conditioning.

    Operant behavior "operates" on the environment and is maintained by its consequences.

    Basically what this says is that learning is contingent upon the consequences of our behaviour.

    The consequences will either reinforce our behaviour, so making it more likely we will perform that behaviour in the future, or punish our behaviour, making it less like we will perform that behaviour in the future.
