If you have a web camera that has 1.3 Mega Pixels, is that good?

Does that mean it has bad picture quality, or good picture quality? If so, HOW good?

There's no way to tell. With a web cam, you are usually looking at 1/4 megapixel (640x480 resolution). This web camera is well beyond that, but don't assume your video will be clear. Usually web cams have tiny sensors and cheap lenses. This means you'll need lots of light and it might not have a clear focus.

It's a fairly standard resolution for still images that can be shot with your webcam...and there's a good chance that the 1.3MP is interpolated. In other words, don't expect great still images. Video quality should be ok, as long as you have adequate lighting.

But, some top of the range webcams with this resolution do not interpolate, so video and still image quality is better.

So, it all depends on what actual webcam make/model it is...as to how good the video/image quality is.

1.3 Megapixels is the same as most cell phone cameras....if that explains the quality well enough for you.

Pretty much the low-end resolution for what's on the market now.
