What is the most important macronutrient to consume when treating overtraining?

I realize that fats, carbs, and protein all play vital functions and none should be limited, but should the consumption of one group be elevated in order to expedite recovery?

Hello, i used to work out so much i actually over trained. i have much experience with working out and diet. I give you the best advice ever. DO NOT INCREASE YOUR PROTEIN INTAKE. just take in protein according to the RDA recommendations. People read magazines and see protein shakes and people eating giant steaks to build muscle. the thing is that your body only needs 1 gram of protein per Kg of body weight. take your body weight and divide it by 2.2 and that is how many grams of protein you should eat. you can go over a little. Do not start taking protein suppliments. You can drink a protein shake once in a while for enjoyment but your body doesnt need much more protein just because your lifting more weights. EXCESS PROTEIN PUTS TOO MUCH STRESS ON THE KIDNEYS. many people think by eating more proteins helps them but in fact it is toxic to the kidneys and can likely lead to kidney disease. kidney disease is no joke. there is no cure and people die waiting for a kidney transplant because the waiting list is too long. dialysis can not replace a real kidney. dialysis can not filter out ceratin proteins good enough and they build up in the body and accumulate in joints which is a painful condition. also dialysis only prolongs life about 10 years. Lastly a person needs to have a plastic line attached to a vein while the person is on dialysis and the veins can collaspe and surgery is needed not to mention the infection risk.
