Big fantasy baseball trade question?

I was offered Scott Kazmir and Dice-K for B.J Upton

i really dont know what to do with this because i lose a top 2B in fantasy leagues and then im left with Aaron hill to start unless i can trade for another 2B

but it would solidify my pitching staff which already has Brandon Webb, Dan Haren, James Shields, and John Maine, as well as Gil Meche, El Duque, and that Homer Bailey kid from the reds

Update:

The rest of my offense is

C- Geovan Soto

1B- Carlos Pena

2B- Upton

SS- Hardy

3B- Chipper Jones

OF- Matt Holliday

OF- Aaron Rowand

OF- Kosuke Fukudome

Util- Ken Griffey Jr.

BN- Josh Fields

BN- Casey Blake

BN- Aaron Hill

jump all over that trade! you get 2 of the game's top 20 pitchers, and you already have two them. You would run away with almost every pitching category other than saves. And there's nothing wrong with Aaron Hill. According to Lindy's Fantasy Baseball Guide, he should hit .301 with 16 homers and 83 RBI. He should also score 95 runs and 5 stolen bases. The average and the runs are pretty good, while the homers and RBI aren't amazing, but they're what you'd expect from a 2Baseman. The stolen bases are kinda bad though. I think you should take the deal, it would really benefit you. But you need to trade away Meche, El Duque, John Maine, and Homer Bailey. Like 2 or 3 of those guys. But keep Shields, he is serious stuff and he's underrated. Take the trade and make some more.

Take the deal. In the many years I've played good pitching is always tougher to come by than offense- even at the middle IF slots. Looking at your rotation Webb, Haren and probably Maine are your win guys - which won't be enough to stay in the mix. The rest are question marks either because of their team or health. Kazmir gets you in the strikeout race alone and DiceK gives you nice numbers all around- even on off days the sox offense can carry him to a win. You pick up that pair and you can spin Maine and another guy for a 2b upgrade, and still have better pitching. Losing Upton stings but you can upgrade Hill without much trouble, and you can find offensive upgrades easily almost all year. You need this deal- take it before those guys get moved somwhere else.

No dude. Upton is top-notch only behind Utley and maybe phillips. I dont know why you want to "solidify" your staff anymore. Webb AND Haren along with Shields, Maine and Meche. That's probably the best staff i've seen in a while, no lie. I would kill to have it. You have a good team and will probably win in most of the pitching categories without Dice-K or Kazmir. Keep the offensive stud.

    You should do it...

Before you do though if you can..

See if you can set up a trade using Dice-K and to acquire a better second baseman. Its always a nice trick so that way you don't get stuck at the short end. A lot of the time one team has a lot of 2b's and they would be willing to give one up. I would use Dice and see if you could get a guy that would fill up the void.

If you can't set up another trade, I would do it anyway, and then put him out on the market. I would hold onto Kazmir though.

    Good luck!!

its a great trade if you are in need of starting pitching, but from what I see, your pitching is very good with webb, haren, and shields forming a nice 123. Your offense on the other hand would take a huge hit if you gave away upton. but if you do the trade, i would then trade one or two of your starters for a really good hitter.

You'd definately be getting the short end of the stick here. Dice-K is better then Kazmir, so you'd be giving up a better pitcher and a second baseman that could be phenominal for another pretty solid pitcher. You'd definately be losing out in this deal.

Do it, people always need pitching, and if you need to, you could trade some pitching for a 2b

no. upton is a great 2b. ur pitching staff is already good. keep upton

It's worth giving up B.J. Upton. I would accept it and i think you should.
