Finished before I started?
I did try in many ways that year, to sit without seeming bored
and it wasn't truly so difficult if I focused only on Ms. Fuentes.
She electrified my senses; me, the kid who rode in from the farm.
That chewing gum trick worked for awhile
as she'd take it, then took me out to the hall,
"Stand here until I come for you please"
and that pleased me no end, as I watched her through the door window
I was hidden and didn't offend, unless she glanced,
saw me leering, while she tried to maintain the class flow, still wearing that Flamenco dress.
We grow though, and I gave up gum, never much caring for it anyway,
after seeming so dumb, to the rest of the group
as they at least acted as if they cared how to diagram.
As a final test, an essay of sorts, we all had to submit.
Determined by then, not wanting to quit, I laid my piece on her desk.
"Thank you" she smiled, reading. "I hope to see you next year."
Had I just been invited to go through this over again?
Sigh, I'm 64. The tale, in two parts relates to the context as a school boy might. "We also LEARN, as we TEACH"
Goodnight.
Apparently I should say thanks, but might not be understood at all, and this was just a second in a 2 parter, relating to a school boy. Ms. Fuentes, was Ms. Klienhans, 80 ish and deaf as a rock.
