I was raised mostly Christian, but never felt at home there no matter which church I attended. I've explored many ideas since then. When I found vaishnavism, it is, in my opinion, the most accurate historically and the most complete in terms of scientific knowledge. I understand more about how things work, why things are the way they are, and where I am headed spiritually. Vaishnavism does not discount Christianity or any other religion, but simply says that surrendering to God is the most important endeavor of living in this material realm, no matter where you find yourself serving God. Hare Krishna!!

  • Is anyone talking about the strange weather everyone is having?

Devastating tornadoes where there have NEVER been tornadoes, temperatures in many locations as much as 35-40 degrees warmer than averages and hitting new records; the jet stream going from south to north across the USA instead of a basic west to easterly flow? Earthquakes in strange places?

I've done some preliminary searching and can't find much to explain it. Even "typical" La Nina patterns don't seem to fit.

  • So, as a society, how do we turn this around?

I think it's a universally known fact that children are facing/making dangerous choices these days, and that society at large is not in a healthy state. How do we turn this around, get the economy healthy enough so that children don't have to be left or raised by strangers, save marriages, put a lid on the violence that everyone is exposed to? LOL....questions that obviously cannot be answered effectively in a silly yahoo forum, I know. But isn't everyone eager to find a solution???

  • (Love Like There's) No Tomorrow - Comments?

    Outside, my wind chimes

    Answer the breathing sky

Random lyrics that soothe my soul.

    Inside, the music we’ve chosen

To surround our venturing astral selves

    Rings into our auras,

Singing us to slumber and back.

I’ve risen to appease my muse’s call

    On this pristine canvas

While you sleepy-slip over to my pillow,

Languidly snuggling the phantom of my perfume,

Your face serene amid lush pillows

    And blankets' billow.

The pain of your leaving is no less,

But I turn my back on tomorrow

    And refuse.

    Instead,

    Crawling back into bed,

    I give substance to

The vacant place in our sheets,

    Embracing with my whole heart

    One more now

    While you hold me.

  • any women out there with younger bfs? Age difference 18 years?

I'm just curious how it goes with you, if there are any relationships out there with longevity. I've been with my younger guy for a year now, but I have reservations about making a commitment. (I'm 45; he's 27)

  • How do non-violent humans deal with, say, mice or ants getting into the food supply?

So I've decided it's morally unacceptable for me to kill, period, even those invading my food supply. But I have a dilemna now...how do I keep the opportunistic creatures out of my kitchen? I would use one of those altered frequency output devices that you plug into an outlet, but my daughter has a pet that would be adversely affected by that. I have a couple of live traps set, and we've actually caught and then released two mice - but one is persistent and apparently intelligent enough to avoid the trap. We've taken to leaving food right where it gets in, and that seems to be keeping it off the countertops at least.

    Oh, and the ants.....

    Any suggestions?
