So, as a society, how do we turn this around?
I think it's a universally known fact that children are facing/making dangerous choices these days, and that society at large is not in a healthy state. How do we turn this around, get the economy healthy enough so that children don't have to be left or raised by strangers, save marriages, put a lid on the violence that everyone is exposed to? LOL....questions that obviously cannot be answered effectively in a silly yahoo forum, I know. But isn't everyone eager to find a solution???

As a society we have to change how we look at children and marriage.
In the US, it is assumed that everyone should have children and everyone wants children. Instead, society should view reproduction as optional. Have kids if you really WANT them and PLAN for them.
Obviously any two morons with functioning reproductive systems can have kids. But PARENTING and responsibility are the real issues. Society needs to view raising children as a life long, irreversible responsibility.
How to avoid children being raised by daycare? Well, some people need to start saving earlier. I know many yuppies that spent their 20's driving $500/month leased BMW's and Mercedes, shopping at Neiman Marcus and renting beach homes all summer long.
Then they married in their mid 30's and complained that they could not be stay at home moms. Well, if they drove Chevy's, shopped at Macy's and rented beach homes for a week, they would have had money in the bank and would not have to work!
Saving marriages? Again, the view of marriage needs to change. Marriage is not about the ring, the reception, the gifts, how hot your girlfriend is, how happy this person is supposed to make you, etc. Some people marry for the stupidest reasons. WHY people marry needs to be rethought.
The biggest matter that needs to be addressed: PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Make people accountable for their actions.
