What do I need to program a simple card game in Java?
I want to create a simple card game (maybe poker or black jack) to learn the ropes, before I try and create a more difficult card game.
I have no experience with Java, but took intro courses on Visual Basic and C++ a few years back.
What program do i need to be able to start these projects? JDK 6? Netbean? I am not sure what these things are, and their website wont let me DL them anyways.
Obviously Im a little lost, any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
thanks! sdk? sounds like eclipse is preferable? Is that avaiable for free DL on the java.sun.com?

You should get eclipse or netbeans if you prefer. get the latest sdk. With either eclipse or netbeans you should try to get a hand on the visual editor to handle the graphics since you are just starting out. for eclipse you would need eclipse version 3.2.2.good luck.

yeah, relies upon too on how determined you're on getting to well known Java, and how nicely you may easily understand what you're doing. once you're in college, take a classification. If training your self, acquire some Java e-books and browse and keep on with alongside. it really is not not plausible, even though it really is not common both... good success

you'll need a java compiler, maybe netbeans from sun microsystems
graphics of a deck of cards, front and back
some java programming knowledge, but you shouldn't have too many problems if you know a bit of c++ already.
