I am a reverted Muslim who used to be a Christian (strict Christian family). I had a friend who converted to Islam and my friend made so many valid arguments about how Jesus never claimed to be God and about how the Bible has been tampered with for centuries. I still didn't believe but I did research on Islam for a few years. I also was a faithful church attendee and I didn't like what I saw in the church. Moreover, I decided to really read the Bible and when I saw contradictions between the Gospels, I honestly got scared and I began to have the desire to become Muslim. And I did.... Alhamdulilah.

I was born a Muslim. I realized the value of most of the things we had to do as Muslims earlier on, because my family considered it really valuable. But, it was an on and off deal after I came to America. My family kind of veered away most of the time, and I made it a point to truly understand and learn Islam for myself. My father helps me out a lot, he has studied a lot on Islam, and he's a true Believer.

So, I think from the time I turned 13, it was evident that I was a Muslimah, and I needed to learn more about my religion. But still, there were moments where I would just put off praying entirely and not acknowledge the consequences.

And now, I turn 18 years old in two days, and I feel stronger than I've ever remembered being. I pray 5 times a day, I recite the Qur'an, I'm learning more and more about Islam every single day. It's a drive for me, and I've found my sanctuary..really. It's just amazing to feel like you've found your belonging after a long, weary, search for that Truth.

I was born and raised in Muslim family, Alhamdulillah.

but I started following Islam, 9 years ago, I still remember, it was Ramadan 1999, I started praying 5 times a day (before that, I left some prayers, especially fajr, duhur and asar, May Allah forgive me), started wearing hijab, started learning about sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, and try to live with it.

It was a book that I borrow from a friend opened my heart, I forgot the title, but it was taken from Al Ghazali's book and translated in my language.

    Assalam Alaikum,

I born in muslim family Alhamudlillah.

I started Salah at the age of 13.

I was always following Islam and I found peace and tranquility only in Islamic teachings. I learned to read Quran in my childhood. I read Quran with urdu meaning at the end of teens. I changed when I listened Islamic lectures and Tafseer of Quran alongwith the newspaper "Islam". It changed life for me and I supported beared and now I am happy to follow Islam in its true spirit according to the guidance of Quran and Sunnah. Pray for me and all the muslims to keep the right path. May Allah bless all of us Aameen!

  • I started learning about Islam when I:

    started living in Saudi Arabia.

    started using Yahoo! Answers.

    started doing Umrahs.

    after performing the Hajj.

after reading the history of Islam.

after reading the Hadiths of the Prophet (pbuh).

As soon as I started all this, I realised that knowledge is so valuable.

I met my a couple of nice Muslims and felt compelled to learn more. I wasn't satisfied with what I was studying in Christianity.. something was missing. Shortly after that I met the man I would later marry and he is Muslim. I learned a lot from him, from reading books, and from asking people. We learn together every day..

i was born muslim too. but to go beyond simple ritualistic following and having faith means you go and make an effort to learn and understand your religion.

i started becoming a practising muslim around 4 years ago. mainly due to the influence of my friends. before that i didnt pray regularly and didnt know that much about islam.

    im 22 now

  • I'm a Muslimah and I used to not cover my aurah properly. I mean, I wore hijab, but I also used to let my arm shown sometimes because my 13-year-old self thought that was okay. I didn't feel so bad at all. And I also did not take a good care of my limits with boys as I spoke unimportant things with them and joked with them. but that time, I did not feel bad at all because I thought I was still following Islamic rules as I never touch any boy. However, I almost date a boy because we liked each other but I rejected him because I knew that this kind of relationship would lead to nowhere. And my cousin advised me about ikhtilat. So I realized then. After that, my brother advised me to wear hand socks and stockings to cover my aurah properly. At first, I did it because of my brother and my grandfather but then, it became sincere. I enjoy covering my aurah. I learned to wear more large clothes and more bigger hijab. Alhamdulillah.
