Can you help me understand Yu G iOh's Rainbow Dragon?
I'm new to YuGiOh and want to better understand how to use my Crystal Beast deck.
If I have the required 7 Crystal Beasts on my field or graveyard to Summon Rainbow Dragon, are the ones on the field sent to the graveyard after they've been used for the summon?
Rainbow Dragon's first effect says: "Send all "Crystal Beast" monsters you control to the Graveyard; this card gains 1000 ATK for each card sent..
What does "you control" mean? Just Crystal Beasts on the field or also ones in your hand?
Rainbow Dragon's second effect is: "You can remove from play all "Crystal Beast" Monster Cards in your Graveyard to return all cards on the field to their owners' Decks.
Rainbow Dragon would still be on the field after this effect, right? If so, he'd be able to launch a pretty tough direct attack?
Thanks for helping me to understand!!!

when you summon rainbow dragon you need at least 1 of each crystal beast monster on the field (monster or continuous spell) or in your graveyard
this is a special summon from your hand (there are no requirements, you don't need to do anything else to your field or graveyard when you have the above requirements) and you can still summon that turn
it cannot activate any of it's effects the turn it is summoned
cards you control are cards you have on your side of the field so any crystal beast on your side of the field can be used for this effect but not from your hand
remove from play all crystal beast monsters in your graveyard to return all cards on the field other than rainbow dragon to the owners hand ... this would allow for an amazing attack if you used the first effect ... the only thing i can think of to stop this would be compulsory evacuation device (after removing the crystal beasts since this is a cost), kuriboh (discard from their hand to make battle damage from rainbow dragon 0 ... but nobody uses kuriboh) or divine wrath (like compulsory but will destroy rainbow dragon once the crystal beasts are removed) ... hope this helps ... i have a crystal beast deck and only have 1 rainbow dragon in because i don't think it is that good (amazing if you can keep it on the field, but most people expect it once they realize wot your using)

Ok, read the text slowly and break it up.
A: "This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned, except from your hand while you have 7 "Crystal Beast" cards with different names on the field or in your Graveyard." You do not do anything with the 7 CB monsters needed. They stay right were they are.
B:"This card cannot activate its effects the turn it is Special Summoned." You must what till your next turn to use these effects.
C:"* Send all "Crystal Beast" monster you control to the Graveyard; this card gains 1000 ATK for each card sent. You can activate this effect during either player's turn. * You can remove from play all "Crystal Beast" Monster Cards in your Graveyard to return all cards on the field to their owner's Decks." CB must be on the field not in your hand. Rainbow would go back to your deck.
Good luck.......

you can special summon the card when all seven beast are on the field or graveyard and you can't use it's effect until the next turn. youcan remove all crystal beast out of play to return everycard on the field to the hand last but not least you can take as much crystal beast on the field to the graveyard to increase his atk by 1000 for each crystal beast sent to the graveyard( i don't know about the spell or trap zone though)

Ivw got that cards its powerful buts its alot of hassle to summon. Its effect does make it go back to the deck (as i found out the hard way in the middle of a duel ). You just need to have the 7 "crystal beasts" on the field or in your graveyard not in your hand BUT ** they have to be different !!!
I did this and i recommend you do, trade rainbow for a "hamon lord of striking thunder" it is alot more powerful and alot more eaiser to summon. Good luck !!

I would not use this card as it is a waste of time the egyptian god cards are the way forward i no this because i own the rare collection and i hav enterd tournoments and no one at the highest level use the rainbow dragon, if u want a tip make sure u hav the black hole magic card and a very affective frontline of monsters tht wil take out and easy opents monsters eg red eyes black dragon
