Should people be allowed to post on this forum before they know how to phrase a question appropriately?
I cringe each time I come across a two word phrase with a question mark after it. First you have to suppose what the person posting meant and then you have to answer and perhaps be wrong. My usual choice is to ignore an entry that is not a question.
-A question is a complete sentence with a question mark at the end.
- A question often begins with who, what, where or when ...or it sometimes poses a query such as "what if"....and ends with "then what"? That would be okay, too.

I entirely agree with you.
Why would people take the time to read you and take the time to answer your question if you can't be bothered to take the time to write out your question properly? I get the impression the person won't care about the answer and I don't bother.

Don't you think it's part of the problem?
I'm amazed at all the teenagers that want to be pregnant or whom are pregnant and also the all the gf and bf's that want to have a baby that don't want to get married.
My conclusion: they have no education. They are looking for answers because they don't want to turn to the appropriate people such as their parents.
There are people that want to stay with their abusive significant other even though he/she is cheating on them, or has kids from another relationship, or has no intention of returning.
It's like a mental illness. They're obsessed and can't make the right obvious decision. Therefore, is it really suprising that their diction is so terrible?
I feel there are an astounding number of questions that tell people that they have low self esteem, no confidence, and are shy. They have no friends. To cut them up based on their spelling or their grammar is making it worse.
It's almost like you (or whomever) are The Grammar Police that wants to show them that whatever problem they have is less significant than learning to spell. It's not very compassionate.
For those of you who can overlook these minor faults and see the real person behind the question and empathize with them and give them a great answer, I commend you!

I agree with the person above.
Let's not get all judgmental--there's no need to be mean. Look around, society doesn't place a large premium on grammar, education, or several other things. No need to point yourself out as having them, this is the "manners" part of the forum after all.

Yes. People are in various emotional states when they ask questions and should not be held accountable for any perceived or alleged grammatical errors.
