What pureed fruit can i give to my 3 1/2 month old daughter?
I was told that when my baby's 4 months I can start her on cereals and prueed fruit. I breastfeed at the moment but was told that rather than cereals to give fruit. I know that banana is ok, but what other fruits can I give as I'd rather give her fresh than the jars.

I started my son on baby fruit at 3 and 1/2 months but it was too acidy for his tummy. The health visitor said some babies can handle it, some can't. Mine obviously can't. I have hime on baby rice in the mornings (just a few spoonfuls) but he's great on it. I would try cereal/rice first. x

You don't need to start her on any foods if your breastfeeding. A breastfed baby doesn't need anything else until they are 2 years old. With that said if you do still want to give her foods, then at least wait until she is 6 months. At 6 months the supply of iron a baby is born with starts to deplete and they can use the supplement they can get from foods.
If you want to then I suggest just buying 1 of everything and trying eat out. It's a good time to experiment :) Since you want it fresh, go see what's in the jars then duplicate what you want to try out. That's really a good thing. Manufacturers add sugars to baby foods. Babies are extra sensitive to sugar and will get to the point where they want things with added sugar if given too may of them in the beginning.
A little fact about babies: Even if they don't appear to like a food at first, when given a food for about 10 times, each time they're given the food they become less resistant to it. So by the 10th time they'll like the food.
Also, by the time a baby is 6 months old their favorite veggie is the french fry. This usually starts with mashed potatoes.

Go see your paediatrician and if they say it is OK i would get some mush carrots and apple sauce mush corn or peaches and pars but you can also make your own baby food and it will save you money and i is more healthy because some company's but stuff in there water while the food is cooking .get some carrots at the store and boil some water put the carrot in it let the cook until there soft and drain them and smash them with a smasher and if your don't have a smasher a spatula will work the put some butter in it and a little milk the cool in the fridge for a minute.

DolphinFan02 is right!! be careful. make sure to only try one new thing per week, if she become alleric to something it can take upt o a week to show signs, and so if you give her 3 different things you won't know what caused the allergic reaction. my sister in law has a 5 month old and she only just started on veggies. and strawberries they say are one of the last fruits to try, when they are a bit older, apparently it's most common for allergies.

I started with cereal for a while, then introduced vegetables, and fruits after that. The sweetness of fruits might cause her to be more picky when it comes to eating vegetables, and cereals tend to be an easier transition in eating, as they are more bland and usually mixed with breastmilk or formula.

I recomend trying ceral first. I brestfeed also and started her ceral with a feeder you can buy them at walgreens it kind of maked the transition easier for my daughter. I feed her baby food with a spoon though. Even if you want to use freshh fruits go to he grocery store and look at all the baby foods from gerber that are stage one that will give you ideas of whats been tested for babys starting to eating food. good luck seeing them eat baby food for the first times is a incredible moment

Apples and pears are good basics, but don't rush the food. You don't want to risk allergys. My doctor told us to start with the cereal.

There are many healthy fruits and vegetables. Fruit and vegetables like broccoli and green spinach contain calcium and are packed with fiber.

NONE, no all wrong. I don't know who is telling you this but you are gonna mess her little belly up. First of all you need to wait until she is SIX MONTHS. Babies bellys can't digest food any earlier than this, you will have a screaming baby on your hands. At six months you need to start her out on cereal. Usually rice cereal and then oatmeal. Give everything different a week between to watch for allergies. Than you need to move onto VEGGIES! First orange veggies like carrots and sweet potatoes, then yellow, like squash, then green like peas and green beans. Like I said, make sure you take a week in between everything new to watch for allergies. You can mix things up once you know she is ok with then. Then after all that you can move onto fruits.

i wouldn't start her on fruit until later. rice cereal should be first. you should do veggies (which you can steam and puree) before fruits. otherwise you may have trouble getting your baby to eat other things once she is used to sweet fruits.
