I chopped off my long hair and now it doesn't look oily the next day. Why is this?

My hair was long, like past my bra strap.  I had to wash it every day because it would look really really greasy the next morning.  I chopped it off and now my hair is shorter then shoulder length and in the morning my hair doesn't look greasy at all, it looks like I just washed and blow dryed it.  I didn't change the products I was using or anything.  Why would that happen?

Because when your hair was long it was being pulled down by the weight of your hair which was giving you less volume and making your hair look flat. Because of that, you were noticing the oil on your roots more. 

Now that it's short, you are getting more volume, and your hair isn't so flat to your head and you're not getting as oily and not noticing it as much.

your hair is much healthier now that you've cut the damaged ends off! 

keep taking care of it and getting trims and you might not have to greasy/oily look ever again.

your hair will now be a hell of a lot lighter which will let air get to your hair now and it will be easier to wash which i no to well because my hair used to be at my hips and then i got it cut to my shoulders and i found it so much easier to wash my hair and make sure that akk of my hair gets a good shampoo and what not so maybe why your hair isnt as oiley

and ya, it's cos your hair doesn't weigh a ton now. it's more free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
