i don't think bonds would go there and i also don't think the rays should take him.. they're trying to develop alot of young talent and barry would just take up salary and space

I see that some are saying that the Rays "are going towards youth"..

Well, they still need to make money. And adding Bonds would put some fans in the seats and might give them some games and exposure on national TV when he goes for his 3000th hit this season.

Considering that this will probably be his last year, whatever team he is on will get big time coverage at the end of the season as he sets the HR mark even higher.

I like the whole approach the Devil Rays........ i mean Rays this year. They are getting new uniforms and moving to a new stadium. As far as Bonds playing for the Rays i think it could happen but i wouldnt expect anything great from him.

.285 25 homers 84 rbis and lots of walks

The Rays are not going to be a contending team this year and I would be very surprised to see them take a chance on Bonds. There is no reason to have him there and I don't believe the Rays want to see their fans throwing syringes on the field during their home games.

I think it would help them sell a few more seats but that is it. Bonds is not a good guy in the clubhouse and probably would frustrating players and coaches more than help them get better.

i agree the rays are trying to go in a different direction and develop young players in their system bonds would probably sell seats nothing more

Bonds is a problem in the clubhouse, the Rays have a good mix of talented young players....this is not the right mix, and they shouldn't consider him.

heck ya it can happen but i still think bonds should go to a american league team so he can be a dh and doesn't have to field.
