How tall is a standard 5 gallon aquarium?

I'm looking for a really short one.

Update:

It's for a tarantula...they don't really require alot of space.

    The most common "standard" 5 gallon tank is 16"L x 8"Wx 10"H.

EDIT: A 5 gallon tank is too big for a tarantula!!! You only need a "shoebox" size tank/cage for a tarantula. Anything bigger and the spider will get lost.

Here is a link to a page showing some ideal tarantula set-ups:

Please don't buy a 5 gallon aquiarium they are completely useless.

Buy the time you buy a heater and a filter and all the cool little things your gonna say....

why did i buy such a small tank.

Unless it's for a single betta...

    Then its the Palias Royale.
