Is this rude?

If you go to someones house and are on the phone within two minutes of walking through the door, you dont even say "Hi" to them before you get on the phone. and then you are on the phone for the next hour, still saying nothin to the person you are visiting, is that rude?

Update:

    Yes.

If I had a friend over and they did that to me.

I wouldn't want to invite them over again.

  • Yes, that is extremely rude. The person that is on the phone is supposed to be there to spend time with the person that they have come over to visit.

The following places are inappropriate for talking on the cell phone:

    restaurant

at the table eating breakfast/lunch/dinner at home

visiting a friend, family or relatives

These are times that the person should be trying to connect or reconnect with the person that they want to be around.

Yes that's rude, unless it was regarding a family situation or emergency.
