Can I sue my school?
I am in my senior year at a private college and am paying a lot of money to do so. I just found out that they are canceling my visual arts program. My degree probably won't carry much weight since the school dropped the program. Do I have a leg to stand on in court?

Don't think so. Even if you can somehow make this out to be a contract or case of "promissory estoppel", your damages are too speculative to be calculated.

First before you do that, you need to ask the school give you the refund back. If the school refuses to give you the money back, then you can sue the school for not informing you about canceling the visual arts program soon enough which could have given you the enough time to transfer to other school and refuse to give the money back to you. It won't work if you are suing the school to have the program back on. Good luck to you.

Employers won't have a clue that the school dropped the program. Nor will they care.

Only if they made a promise to you in writing that they would continue the program.
