It's my understanding that if you get caught growing Marijuana in the states that they can sieze?
your home, auto, etc. Is this the case say for just ONE plant that you may use for your own personal use. I can see if you bust some guy with enough to distribute, but since possession less than an ounce is a misdemeanor do they make the same allowances when growing?

"what exactly does "related to the operation" mean. It's not an operation but a plant in the woods, although from what I'm reading it ain't sure it's worth it.
How the heck does my car get involved? It's not going anywhere. And proving my income is no issue. I've had the same job for almost 15 years.
It would just seem that with some of the laws getting more lenient on the user that the law would rather you grow your own, assuming your not sharing or selling it, than promote dealers by buying from them. Just a thought....

They can seize anything related to the illegal operation through federal asset forfeiture, but there is a minimum amount.
You will not lose your house over one plant.
Before the seize anything, they need to prove it was either used in the illegal activity, or purchased with proceeds from the activity.

Asset forfieture. A wonderful law. Bottom line, YOU need to prove how you earned the money to buy what you have (home, car, boat etc) Many drug dealers can't. They also consider any property, autos, homes etc used as part of the crime. Bottom line, you used your home, car, property etc to commit a crime, so it is subject to siezure as a tool of the crime (kind of like how they keep you gun, legal or not, after you rob a bank...its part of the crime)
All things people should think about BEFORE deciding to do crime, not cry about afterwards.
