Ortho Evra Patch/Pill Help Please??

So I am about to start the Ortho Evra patch and I was wondering what are some side effects? Specifically I'd like to know your experiences and my main questions are: Has it cleared up any acne? And has it lead to weight gain and increased breast size? (more so than the pill?)

I am asking because i have a perscription for the patch but my doctor said that i could take the pill too that it was my decision... And i would really like a BC method that adds a little weight on and clears up acne ( i dont have it bad at all but on occasion i break out a bit)

So what do you guys think, any info is great!!

Also, do any of your smoke marijuana that are on the patch or pill? Has it effected you at all?

Update:

Lakona: I would appreciate some form of respect from you especially while you are answering my question, If you do not know the answer or do not have an educated one to present me, than please do not answer at all. You do not know anything about my life or my habits, I live in California and in case you do not know: Marijuana is legal as medication and I was prescribed it for back pain. Grow up and be respectful or do not answer at all, that is all I ask.

I was on the pill, now I'm on the patch, and i find all the effects the patch has are good, i haven't notice a change in weight or anything, but it does help a little with acne (for me anyway). They make periods lighter and shorter and get rid of most cramps, and a lot of the mood swings. I found the pill and the patch did the same except its a lot easier to remember to put a patch on once a week then take a pill every day. And my doctor told me the patch protects against overy cancer.

Hope i helped... you can ask me anymore questions you have about this, i may be able to help.

...I don't smoke or do drugs so i don't know first hand what the effects would be. But certain drugs are supposed to stop the patch from working. Marijuana would probably make it less affective.

And P.S. to anyone else, the patch isn't just for birth control, I'm on it and i don't have sex, it helps with keeping periods light and under control. And there isn't much of a risk (as long as you talk to you doctor about any other drugs you are taking)

I've been on the patch for 3 years. It caused some weight gain for me and my bra size went from a B to a DD.

I'm noticing now that I am getting breakthrough bleeding and more anxiety then I had before.

In the first 3 years it did make my periods more regular.. Took away almost all of my cramps and worked like a charm.

I would suggest taking it short term, no longer than 3 years.

I am also a smoker and haven't had any short term problems.. But am scared of long term damage so I am switching.

If you have a risk of cancer in your family it's also not a good idea for you. It is a LOT higher in estrogen than most pills.

my experience my be different then yours but I'll share it anyways. I am a bit overweight and have had asthma problems. I WAS on the patch and after awhile my chest kept getting very tight and it was very hard to breath so I went to the doctor and he told me to get off the patch because it was causing my breathing problems. I don't remember if it made me gain weight at all. And any BC will clear up ur acne a little bit.

right now I am on the ring. I like it alot. I have used other methods like the pill and the patch. With the ring I can keep it in for 3 weeks and take it out for one week. I can take it out when I have sex and put it back in and that's nice too, but I also don't feel it durin gsex. WHatever you choose good job on getting on BC.

The patch has been shown to cause strokes, but then again you are a pothead, so who cares.
