Tarantulas getting lost??

Has anyone ever heard of a tarantula (adult size) getting lost in a five gallon tank? Or even a ten gallon? I know they need to be in a shallow tank to keep from getting injured in a fall, but getting lost IN the tank? Not to offend anyone, I'm just a little confused here.

Update:

Sorry, people. I have no idea why this question ended up in fish..except me not paying better attention to categorization.

Update 2:

LOL. No, I haven't lost one myself. It was just something that was said to me that I don't quite understand.

Update 3:

I know. I just don't see how it could happen.

Update 4:

MY SPIDER DID NOT GET LOST!!! Someone just told me that if i used a 5 gallon tank for a tarantula it would get lost and i thought it was absurd.

I don't think it got lost, I think it got out.

Some one rang our vets to ask what to do about an escaped tarantula, that had laid eggs and they had hatched and they had hundreds of tiny tarantulas loose in the house. Sounds like an horror film to me.

Better find it quick in case.

some tarantula's like to dig burrows and cover it with a rock, so yes it may still be in the tank,

Well, have you looked all in the tank, and not seen it? If not then maybe it got out...
