When you go off birth control your body is adjusting to producing all of its own hormones in the normal amounts. Spotting and light bleeding is not abnormal in the first month or two after getting off pill. It should go away after this period. If you are still spotting between periods after 1-2 months, I would go see a obgyn.

It can be normal for some women, yes. It will not stay that light, as your body gets used to being off the pill your hormones will start to regulate properly and you will begin getting heavier, more "normal" periods.

You would be better off not taking those anymore!
