Where should I live in Orange County, California?

My family might be moving to Orange County, CA. My husbands job would be in Buena Park. I want to live in a safe, family friendly area, but not have a huge commute for my husband.

We will likely be renting. Prefer to rent a house.

Any suggestions of places to live.

    Irvine.

    It's in America's Top 10 Safest cities.

It's a bit pricey, the renting for a good apartment (2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 garages) would be around $2200 per month.

Tustin is pretty safe too, a lot of places to rent out too.

Duuuuuuudette! DO NOT move to Orange County! It's the same as moving to Crawford, Texas or Mississippi!

Riverside County is only 30 minutes away from Buena Park via Route 91; the real estate is a lot less and the attitude is more open and friendly. Places like Corona have newer homes, schools, shopping centers, and communities. It's really nice there around Corona, and I think you and your family would LOVE it!

Here is a link to the Inland Empire Craigslist. Go to the real estate section, and in search keywords, type in "Corona" and then click how many bedrooms you want. This will give you a little bit of an idea of what's available and how much to expect to pay!

Stay out of OC, though; it's expensive and oppressive!

I like Irvine a lot. It's really clean and safe. Costa Mesa is also good. Orange is probably good as well or Anaheim Hills. Newport Beach is popular but mostly for singles. Oh, and Hunington Beach is nice as well. I don't think Santa Ana is as good or Anaheim proper. Just do some research. Like all of southern California, there are good pockets of residential areas and then nearby not as good.

I live in Buena Park...and I love it! The schools are great & you are close to a lot of things. I have lived here 4 years & have never had any problems. Average 2 bedroom is around 1400 for an apartment....houses are a lot more.

I'd say about 300 miles north of there. I did that 6 years ago, best move I ever made. I spent 49 years down there.

GET OUT!!!... get out while you still can. Get out of there before the madness and bad air takes you.

So Calif is the home of uncounted fruits, nuts and flakes, and that's the good people.

Oh yeah, don't listen to surfers, they've got water on the brain and hate the fact that the only trees they ever see have concrete around them.
