Hey dude!
Your up here near the Great Lakes like me.
After the Ice-out in MN I always use small 1/16-1/8 OZ maribou-hair Jigs. I've caught some NICE Northerns and Bass with these tiny lures.
Colors- Black, white, purple, green, perch .
Rig them with a select-a-depth float as if you were Crappie fishing. And make sure to use a good fish attractant. 4-6LB Berkley "Vanish" for gin clear water. Fish around the first "emerging weedbed".
It works! Try it!

im no pro only been fishing 11 years stated when i was 2 (you do the math) but caught a 5 pounder last spring on a crank bait i was reelin' fast and stoping and repeating that than i got 'em!
i was using a blue rebel crank bait with a rattle 1/4 oz. in muddy water. but depends on the water depth
or if that don't work for you than i would advise using a purple 6-11 inch worm or creacher with a 1 oz. good luck!
tell me how it worked at ewensj@gmail
NO viruses plz!!!

Using small soft plastic like a Charlie Brewer's Bass Slider Grub or Lizards on a Carolina rig seems to do well in pre-spawn cold water conditions.

or these in more open water situations:

You gotta fish slowwww, try the old reliable jig and pig , brush hog , and other soft slow moving plastics.
