How do I set up my computer to run my karaoke shows?
I have more than 8,000 karaoke songs stored on my external hard drive, and I have a karaoke program I can run on my computer. But I need to know what to do to hook it up to a second monitor, and what adapter I need to get to run my speaker red/white speaker wires from my mixer to the external sound plug on my computer.
All the KJ's in this area run their programs from their computers and I need to step up to the next level.

Your computer must contain a dual-display graphics card, with s-video out, in order to display your workstation on one monitor and the singer's screen on another. Use a 1/8" stereo to dual RCA adapter cable to connect from your sound card to your mixer.

Wiseguy is right but I have also spoke to a guy ready to trash his laptop as he couldnt get the extended monitor facility to work (which is what you use to get the singers window on the second monitor) this is found in you display settings in the control pannel but you must have the ATi rage or Nvidia's own drivers and device settings loaded in to your laptop or pc (native windows basic PNP display drivers wont do it) and the latest DirectX is also advisable then in your display settings under advanced you can enable the second monitor or TV in extended desktop mode.
If you you cant use Svideo out as some dont have it take a look at an AverMedia Keylite or dual sva/tv out adapter, easy to use and plenty on ebay £20 new with the delivery from Hong Kong at the moment.

find the monitor wires first, then hook the red/white wires to the red/white wires on the speaker and mixer to the external sound plug.
