how do i use phone modem while using cable modem?

want to use phone modem for answering phones,but I now use cable modem,can i have both installed?

    I think it should work fine, but why dont you just put a phone next to your computer. seems eaiser to me.

    My guess would be set Internet options to Never Dial a Connection, so you computer will always look at your LAN for internet. As long as your modem and NIC don't share a port or anything like that, you should not have an issue using your modem to dail a voice number or to take calls, if thats what you were using the modem for previously.

    you extremely won't be able to connect along with your modem. it will be quite slow even it you probably did. (Modems are in worry-free words 56k the position as eithernet is 100mb.) so that you dont opt to do it. in case you dont have eithernet in basic terms get some playing cards and upload it. think about a a lot quicker gadget.

    Installed? Yes.

    Simultaneously connected? Maybe.

    I would try two separate browsers, such as IE6 and Firefox.

    Connect Firefox with dialup, then see if IE6 can automatically detect the LAN connection.

    Worth a try.
