no, there is no way to tell if it is a real gun or just a blank gun when pointing it at someone.

Take the Beretta 92F, the real gun. Now, Taurus makes a very similar gun the Taurus 92, and Hewlan of Egypt makes a copy of an older Beretta, the model 1951.

If you pointed a Hewlan at a lot of people they would recognize the very disctinctive beretta shape, but also spot that it was not right. Should they assume it was just a blank gun designed to look like a beretta?

2 out of the 3 are real guns, only the bottom one is a blank firing gun.

I'm not sure if someone that you pointed your blank gun at would be able to tell the difference. If they are armed, you will just have signed your death warrant, though. I have a concealed carry permit and I carry a gun whenever I am going to be in an area where I feel the possible need for it. If you were to pull your blank gun on me, you would be dead on the spot. Never use a blank gun for jokes or self defense. It could get you killed.

the blank firing pistol is usual used to signal a start of a race. a standard piston is used when rebuilding an engine that has not been bored, hence the name standard, standard bore.

If some one pointed a pistol at me (real or not) and I had a gun, I'd shoot them.

Like I'd take the time to see if it was a blank gun or not

Just like Obama...you want to talk about it...you know, negotiate with the guy holding a gun on you.....Jeez

If I were to be shot in that situation. He would hit me in my butt, back or heel. If Iwas not armed, I would get out of there

Yes, you can. The blank pistol have a red cap in the front to show to you this.

If you remove the red cap, you commit a crime,

Sorry my bad english man :-P
