If you want the best than CISCO is the way forward, Netgear are very reliaible and my company currently use Zyxel equipment to good effect.
If you want wireless then the Netgear routers are a very good option(make sure you get one that supports wireless networking bridging), the netgear wireless access points are also very good.
Belkin are not the most reliable to be honest and pobably drop more often than the others.
My Zyxel has been up for 150 days without a drop but this can depend on what type of IP you have, a fixed IP should stay up for as long as the router does but a dynamic IP will drop the connection briefly when your LEASE for it runs out and needs to be renewed.
