Go to Halfords and get a Haynes manual for the Beamer. It will tell you how feasable the job is for a DIYer or refer you to the professionals if it's not possible (i.e. requires the use of special tools etc).

It is hard for a non-mechanic but can certainly be done.

First you need the usual tools and access to a lift, for working on a diff r & r would be really hard without a lift.

    a) Remove complete exhaust system & heat shields covering

    diff and propeller

    b) Detach propeller from body at center bearing area and

then detach end of propeller from diff flange (hang

propeller in such a way that the center bearings do not

bend in such an acute way that it gets damaged

    c) Detach left and right output shafts from diff output

flange andmove over to the side by prying it off

    d) Remove and replace diff assy. from rear axle carrier

    e) Re-install removed components.

The previous answerer is right - a Haynes manual will be a good investment. Also, you can refer to it in the middle of repairs much more easily than you could to a website - oily finger prints on the manual isn't a problem, but oily fingerprints on a laptop could be more serious.

as that is been pronounced, try getting your wheels balanced, and your monitoring taken care of.in case you reside in a community with velocity bumps by residential aspects those can knock your monitoring out. confident, i've got self assurance ABS works by skill of replace gripping and liberating of your wheels, yet at a quickly velocity, to stay away from going into skids. Am sorry, yet I do accept as true with the amazing kit remark, each and every of the BMW vendors around here in good condition the outline. yet as many others noted, you ought to truly in basic terms be doing 70mph, except you're on a authorized racetrack. wish you get your issues taken care of out.
