For those of you who rant about how bad cops are and how much you hate them?

Does this mean that if your home was being broken into or some other crime is being committed upon you that you would not call them? I mean if they're all so bad you'll just take your chances and work it out on your own right? What would you do exactly?

weeder

Update:

I'd imagine the ratio of good cops to bad cops is more like 10,000:1.

Update 2:

hmmmmmm

they must all be out to lunch.

Update 3:

JJ - I bet a million bucks you'd be the first on the phone while peeing your pants. It's always the ones with the big mouths that have the small you know what's.

Update 4:

arrested - It is not a joke. There are some laws I choose to follow and some I don't of the misdemeanor variety, which is my choice. The only difference is if/when I ever get caught I take responsibility for what I have done instead of blaming it on others or especially the police for "busting" me. If I have to take responsibility why shouldn't everyone else?

I have always noticed that the ones who do Bad-Mouth the Cop's are usually the fastest ones to call when their butt is in a jam! They should be kissing their butt's for putting their asses-on-the-line every-day they walk out that door to go to work! I know they are keeping me safe, and my family, and am VERY gratefull for their service to my community. This place would be over-run with Gang's inside of 1-week if it were not for those brave men and women, That's my take on it anyways. God-Bless all Law Enforcement! Take Care

If your home was broken into a crime was commited there is a victim and someone who commited it. The officer comes in arrests said person and that person faces trial. That is a great thing to have in our country.

I begin having problems when it becomes a control issue. Or facing charges on a crime where there was no victim or when it is a crime to not have the same morals as someone else.

I am an adult and able to make my own decisions. If the decisions I make cause an injury to another then I am 100% responsible for that and should be charged. Be it property damage, bodily injury, what have you. I do not need a babysitter telling me what is and isnt good for me.

If I cross a road in a reckless manner(Jaywalking) and there is no victim and nobody got hurt by me doing so, it is not a crime. Is it a smart thing to do? probably not but I should not be charged for a not so smart decision. On the other hand if I Jaywalked and someone hit me caused damage to their vehicle I should be held responsible.

If I feel like smoking a joint, eating, then falling asleep on my couch it is my decision and nobody was hurt in doing so. If I smoke a joint then neglect my children, murder 5 people, rape a waitress, and rob a drug store. I am 100% responsible for every injury I caused those victims and should face trial for neglect, murder, rape, and theft. Not for smoking something that society deems "wrong" and "illegal".

If a family member was in the hospital and I was in a rush to get there and was speeding. The act of speeding is a victimless crime. But if in my decision to speed I caused property damage or bodily injury to another person 100% responsible and should be charged there was a victim. I shouldn't be charged for my poor decision to speed but FOR THE INJURY I caused another person.

If me, myself, or I get hurt in any of these circumstances it is my own damn fault and I should have made better decisions. I am responsible for every decision I make and there are consequences. I do not need a baby sitter to tell me that they are unsafe, do that but dont do that, jump through this hoop and then this one, Just because the majority of society deems it necessary it shouldnt become law.

If society knew what was best for everybody else we wouldn't have laws like these:

-In Alabama bear wrestling is prohibited

-Dominoes may not be played on Sunday.

-and of course Hunting is illegal on Sunday

In the lovely state of Alaska... A law in Fairbanks does not allow moose to have sex on city streets. I guess Society got bored and decided to make laws for the animal kingdom as well.

In Arizona There is a possible 25 years in prison for cutting down a cactus oh and You may not have more than two dildos in a house.

In Berkeley, Calif., you can't whistle for an escaped bird before 7 a.m.

If that wasn't enough to get you started you can go to the link in my sources there sure is alot of "Policing" to do. Myself on the other hand will continue to live life without letting Society deem what is necessary for me.

your absoluetly right weeder, i would NOT call the police. not in a million years. if somebody was breaking into my house why in the world would i call the police? so they can show up a half hour later after im either dead or the guy is gone? nope, sorry i wont be calling the cops. i'd call my boys who live seconds away before i call the cops, the guy wouldnt make it out of the neighborhood. anybody who breaks into my house has a death wish. and if he wasnt armed, dont worry he will be by the time the cops get there ;)

i have freinds who have saved there own lives during home invasions because they were locked and loaded in advance. if they had waited to call teh cops they would be dead right now.

so you can save all that "you would call us if you were in trouble" bull$hit because cops just mop up and write reports. remember, when seconds mean life or death, the police are minutes away.

ipdhc : dont act like you know me , because you dont. and its not about being tough, its about protecting your own @ss. a gun in hand is worth more than a cop on the phone.

weeder: same goes for you. u dont know me so dont make assumption like you do. the difference between me and you is i've already been in these situations and survived, your living in hypothetical land assuming that everyone will piss their pants and call the cops liek you. i never called the cops in my life and never will, i handled my own problems and still do.

Unfortunately we hear more on bad cops who do stupid and illgal things, than the good cops who are out there busting their butts to protect the citizens.

In my experience dirties, cop-haters and criminals are typically the ones who make most calls for service. Everything from "my 8 year old is out of control", to drug overdoses, to "someone robbed me of my weed" to "I can't function and need help"...I spent 75%+ of my tiem with the same dirties.

Some are exactly like JJ. In front of their boys they have this big tough guy demeanor, and as soon as they're alone they're dropping the dime on everyone...funny as hell especially when you digitally record them.

Um...am I misreading this or is your name, "weeder?" They basically exist to take away your rights and they DONT have to come when you are in trouble yourself.

If this is a joke, I am laughing with ya.

that is so funny that you just asked this, i was going to ask the same thing.

    you are exactly right

the people who gripe and fuss the most about them are most of the times the ones out there causing all the trouble and making the officers shift full of b.s. calls rather than helping those who truly need it.

And how many cops doing their jobs make up for the bad cops. Is it a 1:1? 2:1?

I know they got a hard job and all, but I'm just wondering how many bad cops are part of the price -- in addition to paying taxes and all.

They are usually the FIRST to call us to help them out. They hate us until they need us, then we are their heroes! Funny, huh?

Weeder is such a cool guy!
