I know I'm on a roll, but I'm bored at the office today so...for you officers who like to read do you ever

read mystery, law & detective novels or are they too cheesy for you guys to get into? I read a lot of this kind of stuff so I was curious. I enjoy the serious stuff such as John Sandford, The Lincoln Rhyme novels, etc but I mostly like the more humorous ones such as Ed McBain and even the Robert Parker Spencer novels. If you do, what do you read?

Update:

private1 - That one actually made me chuckle. I think most officers can take a joke too if that's what it is.

No I don't usually read any mystery etc type books. Used to read Raymond Chandler etc and last year when in Rome some Lindsey Davis Falco "detective" novels.

Usually try to read history, politics (not modern), philosphy and economics.

Well, I try to find the time to read, which I usually don't have....but yes, on occasion I would read any true crime novels.
