Can you file a 1040ez if you have to file a 540NR?
I was legally married in 2007 and my husband worked in Ohio for a small portion of the year before moving to CA to be with me. I know we have to file a 540NR because of the income that he earned in Ohio, but I'm curious if we can still fill out a 1040ez or if we have to file the regular 1040 form (which is making my head explode just reading the instructions!) THanks for any help! :)

I believe you can file 1040NR/1040NR-EZ for federal and 540NR for california non resident state income tax.
You should contact Non Resident Tax Experts.
I did my CA Non Resident Taxes at http://www.visataxes.com/
I believe they have a tax forum at
Hope this helps!
