How do I fix a disk consistency problem with vista home premium? have to do a scan at every single boot!?

I have an HP laptop.  running vista home premium, last week I had to for the first time do a scan to "check disk for consistency", which doesn't take very long and I do have the option of aborting scan.  But it happens at every boot!  I was unable to do a defrag or to run windows vista backup, because when i do those, it tells me I have a disk error and that i need to run a disk scan, which never ever finds a problem!!!  I'm at wits end and becoming very frustrated!  I have already formatted the hard drive but the problem persists.  HELP!!

you may only abandon Vista altogether. There are 3 concepts: a million. purchase homestead windows 7 2. deploy Linux. there are quite some solid Linux distributions to settle on from and they are all loose 3. Abandon the Evil Empire of application (Microsoft) altogether and purchase a Mac.

Open your Run write "msconfig" and look at the services of startup and try to eliminate it from opening at start.
