Yes they cover formula and baby food. You may want to look into WIC (Women Infants & Children) programs that are specifically for things like that. Food stamps are for any food product that is not cooked. You can't buy fried chicken in a deli or food at a resturant. You also can't buy any non edible produict like soap of toliet paper.

They cover anything that is considered food, but is not 'prepared' food. The easiest way to figure that out is if it is not taxed, is not prepared by a person (fast food, restaurants, convenience store fast foods-hto dogs, drinks) then it is considered a covered item.

I work at a grocery store in Illinois. What our store accepts is the Link card and W.I.C. The link covers just about everything except candy, hot food that is prepared at our store, and non food items. The W.I.C. covers milk, formula, cereal, tuna, peanut butter, carrots, cheese, juice, oats, dried beans, peas, and lentils.

everything you could eat. most people take advantage of it and buy ice cream and candy bars though. You can not buy cigarettes or alcohol with them.
