Hey cabinfixer,
Their is no point installing a CD ROM when you can install a CD/DVD burner, that properly cost around the same price, you would not be able to view, or burn movie, and files with a CD ROM

Simple all you have to do is put the cd in the computer, and if nothing pops up about instalaton go to my computer and look for the one that looks like you cd or something close. click on it and an instalation message should come up. click on the install dialog and follow directons.
