No pizza bashing?
I see an awful lot of McDonald's bashing going on around YA. All fast food gets a bad rap on here, but the burger places tend to be the usual targets. I saw a Pizza Hut commercial last night and realized that while the burger chains are finding healthier options, the pizza outlets are adding more cheese, more crust, more meat, etc. to the pizzas. So the pizza places are adding more carbs, fat, and cholesterol, all the while making better promotions AND they deliver. The burger places at least make you get up and go. So why don't I see anyone beating up on Domino's, Pizza Hut, etc.?
BTW, I am not a fast food hater. We are all responsible for what we eat and how. So I'm not supporting the fast food bashing, just curious as to why the naysayers focus only on the burger places.

Well, you definitely have a point.
I think that most people don't consider pizza "Fast Food" due to the fact that you have to wait at least 15 minutes (in the restaurant) to receive it. Plus, they figure that it contains all 4 food groups (crust = grains, sauce = veggies, pepperoni = meat/protein, cheese = dairy)- therefore it must be healthy, right? After you factor in the fried hot wings &/or mozzarella sticks, soda &/or beer, plus all the dessert pizzas they now offer at most pizza joints - it's amazing we don't all weight 350lbs
Why aren't they coming up with low fat & healthy options in the pizza test kitchens???
Pizza in America is VERY different from pizza in Italy. No thick, cheese filled, butter coated crust, topped with double everything can be found there. Maybe we need to take a page from their book and lighten it all up a little.

Because independent pizza stores offer much better deals and healthier choices, such as spinach, chicken and free garlic among many more choices. Most of those chain pizza places are pretty much accepted as sub par.
And Pizza Hut is an actual sit down restaurant with wait staff that serves many more items than just pizza. You must wait for your order, like in any other sit down restaurant. McDonald's is strictly "Fast Food", getting your meal in under five minutes.

Stewart is a comedian. But really, if you go to a city where there is a tremendous number of extremely good pizza places, why go to where they did, and for goodness sakes, eat pizza like most people eat pizza. Really, it is not that difficult to set up a competent photo op. If you want to connect with the average person, don't eat pizza like some out of touch elite. Give Americans credit for being able to sniff out a fraud. This probably is the only time in his life Trump ever ate pizza.

Pizza is not necessarily "fast food" in the sense that McDonalds is. Pizza is not really something that you eat on the go and is there not consumer nearly as much as a fast food joint such as McDonalds is. That's why Pizza chains don't get a bad rap.
