I'm pretty intelligent, funny, and sincere. I ignore the crazies on YA and want to offer serious help to those who need it and share my experiences with business, education, relationships, travel, cooking and entertaining, love, and loss. I'm happy to connect with the sincere members of the YA community.

  • Remove grease/oil stain from knit shirt.?

I have a cotton knit shirt with a food grease stain. I usually wash this one in cold water, might have to try warm next. But I've washed it multiple times using spray and wash. Also several times sponging alcohol on it, letting it air dry, then washing.

The stain is fading but still there after multiple washes. Any other remedies out there?

  • Mandarin orange, chicken, cream cheese recipe?

Sounds weird I know but my husband has been talking about a dish he had in a San Francisco restaurant. He can't remember much more than it was chicken, and had mandarin oranges in it and a white sauce that he remembers as cream cheese but could have been a sour cream or other dairy based sauce. Anyone ever heard of anything like this and a have clue for making it? Thanks.

  • Custom Cake Shop in Santa Fe, NM?

I know this isn't the right place for this question, but YA has no categories for New Mexico and my question got lost in the "general" category. Can anyone recommend a good custom cake shop in Santa Fe, NM? I need to make a unique cake for a big 70th birthday event. I know restaurants in the area, but I don't know any bakeries/cake shops. Please recommend any place you have used who can make a delicious and attractive custom design. Provide website if you can. Thank you.

**Yahoo, you need sections in dining, travel, local biz for all 50 states! C'mon.

  • Noruz/Navroze Celebration?

I have recently learned about the Persian/Parsi New Year, this is not a holiday I was familiar with but sounds fascinating. Can someone tell me a bit more about your family's traditions and foods for this holiday. I've missed this year, but I would love to experience it next year if possible. Please tell me as well what the appropriate greeting is for this holiday; i.e. is it happy new year? Whatever it may be, my best wishes to you and thank you for any insight.

  • No pizza bashing?

I see an awful lot of McDonald's bashing going on around YA. All fast food gets a bad rap on here, but the burger places tend to be the usual targets. I saw a Pizza Hut commercial last night and realized that while the burger chains are finding healthier options, the pizza outlets are adding more cheese, more crust, more meat, etc. to the pizzas. So the pizza places are adding more carbs, fat, and cholesterol, all the while making better promotions AND they deliver. The burger places at least make you get up and go. So why don't I see anyone beating up on Domino's, Pizza Hut, etc.?

  • After the resurrection....?

I am Jewish but know a good deal about Christian teachings. But a question came up the other night that I could not answer. I know that Jesus is believed to have been resurrected after his death. At the resurrection was he actually alive again in human form? Was he just seen in visions? Or was he some sort of spirtual presence? If he was alive again in a corporal form, then what happened to him? I appreciate your help.

  • When will the writer's strike end?

I love Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart but even they are reaching an all time low without writers. What was with the Conan interlude tonight? Please Hollywood, give them what they want and spare us from the evils of one more freak fest reality show and the loss of valuable entertainment. Anyone else agree?

  • Feedback on The Berkshire Restaurant?

I love trying new restaurants but I don't like taking chances. I am thinking of going to The Berkshire at Quebec and 28th this evening. It's my husband's birthday so I want to be sure it will be good. I found some decent reviews but wondering if anyone in YA land has been. Thank you.

  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Lovers?

This isn't a question, but I've answered enough cookie recipes on here so I know there are cookie people out there and wanted to share this recipe.

My husband loves my choc chip cookies but I wanted to make something a bit different tonight. I found this recipe online:http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Chocolate-Chip-Cookie...

I didn't have enough brown sugar though so I used about 1/3C of brown, 2/3 of white, and added a tablespoon and a half of dark molasses.

They just came out of the oven and are AMAZING! Can't wait for the boys to get home. Hope you like them too.

  • Where do the first 20 numbers go in Southwest's New Seating System?

I am a fan of Southwest and their new seating system. But what happens to the first 20 positions in the A group? It seems like even if you check in online at the earliest possible time, you cannot get any number under 20. And on several occasions it doesn't appear that anyone lines up for A1-20. Is the airline holding them for some reason? Anyone know?

    Happy new year.

  • Why can't people spell check and use real English?

This is more of an observation than a question. I'm fairly new to the Answers community but I am really bothered by the atrocious grammar and spelling in some of these questions. I understand there are web abbreviations and people are used to chatting/texting but I can't tell you how many questions I skip because I can't figure out what the heck these people are saying. Anyone agree or am I just a cranky English Major?
