After the resurrection....?
I am Jewish but know a good deal about Christian teachings. But a question came up the other night that I could not answer. I know that Jesus is believed to have been resurrected after his death. At the resurrection was he actually alive again in human form? Was he just seen in visions? Or was he some sort of spirtual presence? If he was alive again in a corporal form, then what happened to him? I appreciate your help.

He was resurrected in human form. That is to say He was recognizable as what He looked like while alive. The only difference being that His body was somewhat molecularly different. Before His resurrection He was flesh and blood. After, He said He was flesh and bone. His blood having been shed for the sins of mankind. He could also walk thru walls after His resurrection.
Then He ascended to sit on the right hand of God the Father. The Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Godhead, thru the operation of God, places US into the living entity called the Body of Christ, as well as INDWELLING each believer.
We become members of a NEW CREATION and are sealed unto our redemption with the Holy Spirit of promise.
Good question...thank you.

He had a spiritual body. He could eat (John 21) , communicate with His followers and was seen by over 500 people. Since so many saw Him after the resurrection, the idea that it was a "dream", vision, or mass hallucination is not likely. He had a body that could be seen, yet could pass through walls like a spirit. He arose into Heaven after 40 days, and will come again.

According to multiple witnesses, Jesus rose from the dead bodily, then after 40 days, went up to a high mountain with His disciples and was taken up in to heaven. He is alive today and sitting at the right hand of the Father.
His body was a resurrected body that allowed Him to appear in a room without the need of doors. Yet He ate and the disciples were able to handle him and see that He was flesh and bone. Yeshua will have His scars through eternity and they will be the only man-made thing in heaven.

Two stories about the Resurrection are important -- the empty tomb and the appearances. The appearances by themselves might suggest that early Christians were having visions. But the fact that the tomb was empty tells us that the disciples were seeing him alive in the flesh.
The body they saw, however, was transformed from his original body -- we say that it was glorified. He could suddenly appear in locked rooms and was not always recognized by his friends. Yet, he could eat with his followers and even cook for them!

Jesus was given an immortal body. Which is promised to allwho go up in the Rapture of the Church. This refers to the dead saints of God(those already passed away will rise first) and to the living saints...all who are worhty. He now is sitting at the right hand of the Father in heaven
Many relegions teach that Christ rose only in spirt form but to Christians this is not so. He promises to return as King of Kings to deliver all those who are worthy.

He was resurrected as a spirit person similar to angels that came to earth and could eat food as well as do other things that humans do.
You being a Jew, would know of the visitations by angels to Lot and Abraham, how they were kindly received and fed.
What happened to them?
They went back to the spirit realm of heaven.

Yes, His physical body was also resurrected with His soul and Spirit. His disciples not only saw Him, they touched Him and watched Him eat something. He walked on the face of the earth for a small 'season' , until He was 'taken up' to Heaven.

I believe His body was returned to the true and original form God gave Adam when he was first created.
Jesus ate and drank with his followers after His Resurrection, but he could also walk through walls.
He must have chose to keep His scars however, because He allowed Thomas to stick his fingers through the holes to prove that it was in fact Jesus.

One must understand The Holy Triune GodHead. (God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit.) Jesus is now back at The Right Hand of God The Father. The Holy Spirit is now in the hearts of every True Believer.

The Christian belief is that he was alive in human form.
His "actual" body resurrected from a deathly status, like Lazarus.
