Scanned picture convert from bitmap to jpeg?
How or what do i do to convert a scanned picture that was saved as a bitmap to a jpeg file. Thanks.

You can load it into your paint program and then save it back out as jpeg format

Some of the above are right, but the thing they didn't tell you is that an image saved as bitmap may not have enough detail in it to convert to jpg very well. Just hoping to save you some time.

If you have MS Paint just open it and click save as, change the file format to JPEG and click save. Remember where you save it to.

as they all say open the picture in a photo editing program then goto save as in the drop down box look for jpg and save it .
a little tip if you are use publisher at any time you can also save your documents as jpeg. although you cannot alter them later.

If you have XP,
Open the picture, and if it opens up in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, click the "Copy To" icon (the lil floppy), choose JPEG file format in the save as box, and save it.

In paint, load the image you want. After editing, go to File--Save As--Save as type--JPEG
