Why would anyone elect tax donation to the presidential election fund?

Is there some hidden benefit from giving $3.00 of your tax return to this fund? Has anyone actually done this?

Electing to have $3 go to the Presidential election fund does not change your refund or tax due. It's not $3 of your refund going to the fund.

The fund reduces candidates' dependence on large contributions from individuals and groups and places candidates on an equal financial footing in the general election.

It funds the presidential election so that the politicians don't have to grub for money from special interests.

The $3 isn't deducted from your refund (or added to your taxes).

    I do it every year.

No benefit but I follow politics pretty closely.
