when a man says "will you marry me?" does he really mean will you cook for me for the rest of your life?

My wife can't even boil water right.

Not my guy! HE does MOST of the cooking! He is a GREAT cook!! We're still not married (even after being together for 13 years & having a 7 year old daughter together!) but we've been engaged for 7 years!!

I cook for myself, and any "guests" that I might have. Marry me, means will we actually put up with each for the rest of our lives.

    Be careful how you answer.

well the last guy that asked me to marry him was a pretty good cook but he was clear that he wanted someone to do the house cleaning and "taking care" of him.Other than cooking, the guy was pretty incapable of taking care of himself and wanted a wife/mother. I dont think thats a great reason to get married.

It means he's lost his self-respect, self-control and most likely his FN mind. God knows I had no idea what I was asking. My wife must've thought I said "will you torment me for the rest of your life? "

that's pretty much it! makes you wonder why so many women are desperate to get married, and guys run away from it...it should be the other way around

I was actually hoping for free groping without having to buy expensive presents as well but whatever...

Yes...damn girl you are so smart...It took me 5 years of marriage to figure that one out before!

  • 1 decade ago

Not necessarily...but I'm sure he doesn't want to do take-out for the next 50 or so years...

  • He's also saying, "Please look this good after 4 kids and a mortgage, don't try to change me, and yippy, sex everyday for the rest of my life!"

    It depends on the guy.

In my case, I was thinking more along the lines of . . .

Will you let me take care of you for the rest of your life?

Will you be a safe person with whom I can share my darkest secrets?

Will you truly be a "friend with benefits"?

Will you try crazy things with me (at least once)?

    Will you succeed with me?

    Will you fail with me?

Will you love me as much as I love you?
