As you age, do you ever think to yourself "this is a bad world we live in & its getting worse"?

im 34 & from a very early age have been disgusted at some of the evil things people have done & all the crime, paedophilia & various other disgusting things i dont care to mention, and through the years its got worse, to the point where i think "what have i born my children for? to live in a shitehole like earth"

dont get me wrong i LOVE my kids to bits & dont regret any of them, but i do worry about there future

is this normal? or am i just a bit of weirdo lol

    normal...

and I don't personally think the world is getting worse. I think we're just more exposed to everything with the media (esp. the internet).

Never. I am aware of Reality. The world population increases every year. It's only natural that evil should evolve with the people. I also have children and they are fending for themselves even better than I did at their age. Don't worry about yours growing up in this world. The worse the world gets the stronger each new generation

    becomes.

I think it is normal. when you are young, you tend to view the world and it's people through "rose colored glasses". Everything is beautiful. I think sometimes it's because as parents, we try to shield our kids from the bad things in the world. So then when you grow up - you get all this info about how bad things really are all at once.

The other thing is, we are so much more exposed to both good and bad news. The internet, newspapers, TV yelling at you from the gas pump! it's hard to get away from the bad anymore.

I love my kids too, but sometimes wonder what kind of future they will have on earth. But then, as a Christian, I know their future in heaven will be great.

The world has never been, and never will be, a perfect place. We are experiencing the best of times right now (even though it may not feel like it). Just relax to see the beauty every once in awhile. People are always looking for some miraculous answer to all of the world's problems...

and they get a beautiful sunset instead.

And to answer your question, yes. I used to feel that way all the time. I learned how to appreciate the simple things around me and not dwell over everything that isn't perfect in my mind though. It helped me through everything. You're probably an artistic person. Artistic people tend to think that way alot.

Source(s): Me, being 14, finally more optimistic after I was pressured by my family for being so negative. It's all over now =] and much better. But I didn't change for my family. I changed for myself.

No it wasn't between the worst issues to take place to the song worldwide. a number of it rather is shows, extraordinarily Headbangers Ball and one hundred twenty minutes confirmed the worldwide song that until eventually that element did no longer get carry of countless airplay. If it hadn't have been for MTV, i could have under no circumstances gotten into bands like the Violent Femmes, The Sugar Cubes and The Jesus and Mary Chain using fact they weren't getting airplay on commercial radio. each and every technology has consistently had it rather is commercial/company artists. Madonna is a competent occasion of commercialized song no rely what decade it lands in. there remains good song being made available now, one merely has to dig a splash to discover it.

No you are right, I feel the same way, going on 46 now I sometimes feel guilty about having 2 children because of the way life has changed so rapidly for the worst and now I really do understand when people always refer to the good old days when you could leave your back door open.

There has always been good and evil in the world but think of all the people you know and you will find that the bad ones are in the minority although their deeds are the ones we hear about. Just enjoy your kids and do all you can to ensure that they don't become the 'baddies'. Life is wonderful really!

You are normal and I know how you feel. I'm in my 40s and have two teenage kids. Hopefully they will do OK but I feel very sad sometimes that the world seems to be on a course of self destruction. Not just for their future but their families too.

I'm feeling the same way and I'm only 18...I'm considering not having children because of the world that I will bring them into. Overpopulation is a serious problem as it is and oil's going to run out extremely soon. What's the point?

I hate to say it but it was always so! I've known people in their 40's and 50's break down and cry because they have never told anyone the dreadful abuse they suffered as children. It's just that we hear more about it now.

No your not weird, it is changing I'm roughly the same age and i have little one's and i think the same as you what will it be like in their generation, its scary to know that they have to be so protected these days on all sorts, when we was young you could play outside without looking over your shoulder, its not fair on them.
