Hi Robin Hood,
No, I don't think they break the Guidelines (but I'm no expert).
The rule to ask yourself is if they are 1) seeking advice or 2) knowledge worthy (the answers add value in some way). If you answer "yes" they are seeking advice or knowledge-worthy, then they most likely are not breaking the rules.
I think there is an automated program (called Bot) which is trolling in the Polls & Surveys category. I myself have more Violations in the last few days than I did in the last 14 months.
Please continue to appeal those wrongful violations as instructed in the Violation Notice email. BTW, in a recent question Judas Rabbi stated that he sends in appeals EVERY DAY. So, we are not alone.
Best of luck to you.

Those questions seem perfectly valid to me. I got a violation notice for one of my answers and did send an appeal but I think that was going to be a waste of time. Y!A is still a good site, but if they don't do something to get rid of the trolls and the wrongful violations, I think there will be a lot of people leaving the site and looking for someplace else to ask and answer questions. There have already been several questions asked on Y!A as to the location of another Q & A site. Definately make your questions and answers private, that should help a bit.

I got one yesterday for asking if all the mum's out there were having a good Mother's Day!! The laugh was, it was a resolved question as I'd already picked a best answer, so go figure. I feel out with one of my contacts on here, so I thought maybe it was them out of spite as I took them off my contacts list so they couldn't see when I was on here? Maybe I do her an injustice and it is a practical joker just doing it for the hell of it? Who cares anyway? We are still here and I don't think there is such a thing as the Yahoo Police going to come to my door and arrest me..............lol!! Have a nice day folks, as I am off to earn another violation!!

I cannot believe what has been happening here, I have contacted the yahoo team on your behalf as has a few others I know, this has become ridiculous now and yahoo need to get a grip, and I have told them so (for all the good it will do we have to try), good luck in getting your account back, we are rooting for you.

Do you know what's really bad about this? Y!A is taking the word of some troll and just deleting your questions without any investigation. There is nothing wrong with your questions and I hope Y!A are big enough to admit this and to reinstate your questions. This may also lay the foundation for them to investigate the deletion of your original account and to reinstate that one as well. Good luck in your campaign for justice.

This same thing happened to me and my suggestion to you is, hide all your Q & A (if you haven't already), delete any fans you have that you don't know and that you are not sure of. I did and my problems stopped. In fact, I don't even know how some of them became my fans. One of them was constantly thumbs downing ALL my answers and suddenly started to report ALL of my answers and questions. I had 4 questions deleted in one day! One right after another, so I knew it was someone on my list. I got rid of em and it all stopped. Try that. That may be the problem. Good luck. This is a pain in the ***!

I am in danger of getting a violation if that is the case, just to be on the safe side I won't do poll questions.

Sounds like you have a troll. And yes it is probably someone on your contact list. Do as others have suggested and hide all your Qs and As so no one can go through and report them all. Some people are just plain mean.

Yea, thats ridiculous. I got a violation too, when i looked at it the user had added something to the question that made it look that i was being uneccessarily mean.....it wasnt the case, he added extra information afterwards.
