Why do we have to go through having a divorce decree in Arizona, if it is a community property state?

Got a divorce 5 years ago, and my ex didn't statisfy a debt he was responsible for according to the divorce decree, and I am now sh*t out of luck.

He has no job, on a state assisted program and is trying to get on total disability, so it isn't like I can take him to civil court. What good would it do to have a judgement against him if he has no money?

Does anyone have any ideas? Any and all would be appreciated.

well you are chit out of luck! Disability can't be garnished. Even if you took him back to court where the original decree was issued under his circumstances they would say nope not a thing we could do. HOwever; if he has any assets, the court could force him to sell to pay you. But it can't be his only home or mode of transportation. Good Luck!
