How can you tell if you have a high or low YA community rating?

Uh, if the answer is a true answer, there's nothing wrong with the person pasting it in, every time the question is asked. That's NOT a violation. It's actually sensible, since one sees the same question gazillions of times, and it gets old giving out the same information over and over and over and over and over and over.

But, now to your question.

The standings are dynamic, so even if you aren't "trusted" now, that doesn't mean you won't become trusted in the future, so, NO, it's not a waste of time.

The only way I can think of to know is to put questions you report on your WatchList. You can then check your list in your Profile page, and see how many get removed. (You could also do this for answers, but you can't annotate the list, so it would be hard to remember which answer you reported for a given quesiton.)

Besides, even if you're not "trusted" at any given moment, you might be one of the "enough other users" to help get things removed.

It is NOT a waste of time, but a Very Good Thing to report all violations you see. (Make sure you really understand the Guidelines, which you mostly seem to -- there's also a quiz at the Forum you can take to test yourself.)

Don't report legit posts, however you feel about them; report violations.

We need MORE, not fewer, people helping police this site.

The difference between trusted and not is that a single report from a trusted can get something removed (depending on the status of the poster, too); whereas it takes more than one of lesser status.

So, reporting is NOT futile, and is, in fact, the way to become "trusted."

On the YA team knows your reliability rating and they will not make that information public. You simply report as you deem is correct and see the results. Often, it takes more than one report, so don't be surprised if something does not go away when you report it, or think it reflects badly on your reliability. It may simply be that not enough folks joined you in reporting.
