What is the easiest way for a technology challenged person to get digital copies of clips from DVD's?
I'm putting together new curriculum and I need to make a resource disk with the video clips (I'm trying to pull together a 1 minute scene here, a speech there, etc). Since I only need it for this project, freeware is pretty much a must. Thanks for any help you all provide. It's much appreciated.

If your source dvd isn't copy protected, then you can use a program called: Chopper XP, link: http://codecs.com/download/Chopper_XP.htm ... Once you've installed it, you'll need to navigate to your dvd drive (from within the program) and choose the .vob files. Once you've loaded the video file, you can browse and 'cut' the segment you want. You'll need to tell where to start and where to end (cut).
Of course, if your dvd is copy protected, you may need to decrypt it in order for it to work.
For a fair-use situation, I recommend use AnyDVD from Slysoft. Link: http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html
