why do people like lesbians more than gay men?

Well for hetro men it's the old ideas of getting it on with two women. Face it gay or straight men can be pigs. Also, having Lesbians like Ellen on public TV has made it OK to women.

Most women don't have much of a problem with gay men as most hairdressers, florists, fashion designers, etc. are gay. But straight men think it isn't manly to be gay, yet I have met some men who people wouldn't know where gay if they met them on the street and I know some straight men who you would think were screaming *******, who have wives and kids and have never been with another man sexually.

In England, gay men are actually more liked than lesbians. Mostly because we've openly accepted homosexuals in our media for years and years, but lesbians have kind of been a bit left out.

However, America is dominated by straight males. The only thing more sexy than one woman is TWO... giving each other Aussie kisses.

So, lesbians are more liked in America because they both give power and a sense of self to women, and they get men randy.

Society is more tolerable to lesbian, versus gay men at this time. Some people see homosexuality in men kinda as a weakness and a threat to "masculinity", therefore making it not as accepted.

If you ask me it's because to guys, sexual orientation is all about just that: S-E-X. And if they accept *other* men as being gay, that immasculates them and makes *them* seem gay (or so they think). And what's the last thing any macho straight guy wants? For his sexuality to be doubted, of course! Sadly, it's just the way things are right now due to narrow-minded, judgmental straight people. Personally, I prefer gay people to straight people, despite being straight myself. Go figure. =)

Honestly I think the thing is the actual act of lovemaking between two men that make straight, manly men uncomfortable. They don't like the mechanics of it all and some of them find it scary and unnatural, at least that's what I hear the most.

In our society, lesbians are a sex symbol something appealing to men but when a man sees gay men it disgusts them.

Its a flaw in our society, i don't understand either.

People should be accepted and not have to hide their sexual identity.
